Additional Information
NETBALL GRADING POLICY
All Junior players aged 10 to 14 years will be required to attend grading where they will be placed into teams consisting of players of equal or similar ability.
Grading is a complex process with selectors looking at skills, ability, commitment, and attitude. Our selectors also need to consider the team as a whole, ensuring where possible, players are filling the required positions on the court.
At Ravens, for those players who have played with us before, we are able to view coaches’ reports from the previous season and if required, factor this into the selection process.
We also know, players can develop at different times, and we see new players joining the Club each year, which can impact the final composition of our teams.
Our selectors are experienced in selecting and score each player independently before consulting with the other members of the grading committee on team formation. It is a very thorough, fair, and transparent process where we aim to ensure our players have a positive and enjoyable season playing with teammates who are of equal or similar ability.
All players will need to be registered with Netball NSW to attend grading.
umpiring
Umpiring is a fantastic way to be involved with the sport of netball, with some great opportunities and pathways available to umpires at a Club, Association and State level.
During the winter season, Ravens is required to supply umpires for up to 30 games every Saturday. We also provide umpires for rep carnivals, gala days, and grading.
We have many wonderful umpires who have been a part of the development program available through the Club who continue to umpire games every weekend.
We also welcome experienced umpires who are interested in umpiring for the Club, particularly in the afternoons at Meadowbank during the winter season.
WET WEATHER
During the competition season, wet weather notifications will be posted on the ERNA website and Facebook page
ERNA’s courts are all weather and dry quickly, so always assume that games are ON unless otherwise advised.
Regarding training, please check the Ravens Facebook page if it relates to pre-season fitness or contact your coach /manager for regular team training updates.

NETBALL COACHES & MANAGERS INFORMATION
We are a Club that can only exist with the help of volunteers. We need volunteers to fill coaching and managing roles.
We also have opportunities for young players to learn how to become a coach, as part of our Junior Coach Mentoring Program. If you are aged 14+, and are interested in coaching, please get in touch.
All coaches and managers attend an information session prior to the start of the season with coaches also invited to our ‘Coach the Coach’ sessions.
SPONSORSHIP
Sponsorship of the representative level teams plays an important part in their success. We are not a large Association with 100,000 members, nor do we have the might and financial resources of the larger historical men’s programs. We are a stand alone FEMALE representative program that supports and encourages empowerment of women. If this fits your corporate or personal principles, then please think about becoming a sponsor, so we can grow and empower the womens game together.
